Realme gets it wrong again using recorded video to showcase gaming performance at Narzo 50 launch

Realme launched Narzo 50 yesterday. The device with Mediatek Helio G96 SoC and 5000mAh battery is mainly aimed at young people who love to play games. To show off its gaming prowess, Realme showed off its gaming performance during the launch where players played Free Fire. But things didn’t go well for Realme.

After carefully reviewing the video, it was concluded that Realme was actually using a pre-recorded gameplay video and not a live match. RMLeak was the first publication to notice this error. Here are the details of what happened during the Realme Narzo 50 launch.

During a live broadcast, it appears that two players are competing in a Free Fire match until one of the players touches the screen as if he wants to shoot and it opens to reveal the video player’s navigation bar. This is a Realme Gallery app and the UI appears in a similar way as soon as a video starts playing.

In addition, Free Fire was banned on February 15, 2022, after which the game was removed from the Play Store and Realme added a disclaimer to the video explaining that the event was pre-recorded, however they claimed to have played the game during recording. event, which also turns out to be pre-recorded gameplay played on smartphones.

It is still unclear if Realme used the footage from the Narzo 50 device or another phone.

However, this isn’t the first time Realme has messed something up during launch. During the Realme Narzo 30A launch in Bangladesh, the company was caught red-handed using an iPhone to showcase the Narzo 30A’s gaming performance. To which Realme later clarified that the producer broadcast the wrong video.
