Realme GT 2 Series global launch soon, new tablets and laptops also coming: Madhav Sheth

Realme, earlier this week, launched the Realme GT 2 series phones in China. Now, in an interview with Android Authority, Realme VP Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the Realme GT 2 series will debut worldwide soon. Sheth confirms that Realme GT 2 series devices will be launched in Europe.

Very soon we will have a global launch of the GT 2 series and you will hear from us soon. So it will be a global launch and it will also be in Europe.

Sheth did not reveal the launch date for the Realme GT 2 series in Europe. In addition, it is not clear if the company plans to bring the Realme GT 2 and Realme GT 2 Pro to global markets.

New Realme Pad Tablets and Realme Book Laptops Arrive!

2021 was also the year Realme entered new product categories such as Android tablets and Windows laptops. The brand launched Realme Pad, a budget Android tablet with MediaTek Helio G80 processor, 10.4-inch display and four speakers. However, the company was working on at least one more Android tablet. The company’s marketing director, Francis Wong, has talked about a tablet with an OLED display a couple of times, but it hasn’t been released in 2021.

In a recent interview, Sheth revealed that the company will release more tablets this year at different price points.

So I think, yes, definitely, we will see many new tablets in other price segments. At the same time, you will see laptops fail (sic).

However, Sheth did not reveal if the company plans to release a flagship tablet to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and Apple iPad Pro. Sheth also said the company wants to focus on five product categories – tablets, laptops, TVs, wearables and audio for major markets.

No plans for a three Android update policy!

Several Android OEMs have announced a three-year Android update policy for their flagship phones. But Realme still wants to stick to the two-update Android policy even for flagship phones.

I think we’re still on that specific point of view that we’re going to get updates (OS) for two years and regular security patch updates for three years.
