The BGMI 1.8.5 update has been released. Update Preview: Jusutsu Kaisen Event, Santorini 8v8 Map, and More

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) will release this February and the developers have just shared a preview of all the new content, features and changes coming to the game. The exact release date of the new update 1.8.5 has not yet been announced, but it should appear in the second half of February.

One of the highlights of the upcoming update is the introduction of Jujutsu Kaisen characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen themed mode in BGMI present in Erangel. Players will be able to interact with 4 characters from the anime movie on the main island.

Players will also be able to find locked treasure chests in Erangel and Livik, the location of which can be found in the hints section of the Season tab.

Jujutsu Kaisen themed mode

• Locked treasure chests contain loot and useful items that can be used in the match.
• Items found in the treasure chest can be exchanged for rewards and special achievements can be completed.
• Skull Grenades – These will occasionally spawn in Jiu-Jitsu Kaisen mode. Sull Grenades can be used to summon a difficult enemy boss. Defeating this boss will allow players to obtain powerful and varied items. The boss cannot be summoned if the grenade is thrown into a cramped, narrow corner.

New map – Santorini

Responding to players’ need for a smaller, much faster game mode in BGMI, players will now be able to play on the new Arena map, Santorini. This 8v8 map will allow players to experience the game in a much more intense way, plus it’s also a plus when there’s a short break in the battle royale mode.

The Santorini map can be found under the Unrated tab in the Arena menu. The card can be used both for training in the arena and for team deathmatch.
