Oppo Reno 8 due to launch by June, could feature Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, 80W fast charging and more
Rumor has it that Oppo will update the Reno series soon. Rumor has it that the company will launch the Oppo Reno 8 series in China in May 2022. The company will release at least two devices in this series, namely the Reno 8 and 8 Pro. Oppo has yet to officially confirm a launch date for the next Reno series. Tipster Mukul Sharma claims that the Oppo Reno 8 launch event could take place in June 2022. The tipster also listed some of the key features of the upcoming Oppo Reno smartphone. Let’s take a look at the specs, features and other details of the Oppo Reno 8 series known so far.
Oppo Reno 8 launch schedule
According to leaker Mukul Sharma, Oppo will launch the Reno 8 series in June 2022. The specs of the vanilla model have also been leaked. Sharma did not give an exact launch date. The Reno 8 series will reportedly launch in China in May 2022. So we can expect the launch event to take place in June. It is worth noting that there is no official confirmation of the launch of the Reno 8 series in China at the moment. Therefore, it is recommended to treat the leaked timeline with a grain of salt.
It was previously reported that the Reno 8 will ship with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. The new SoC will be based on a 4nm process and will offer performance similar to the Snapdragon 8 series. The chipset will be paired with an Adreno 662 GPU.
On the front is a 6.55-inch Full HD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. The screen will have a cutout for the front camera. There will also be a triple camera on the back of the phone. There will be a 50MP main camera sensor, an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera sensor.
Under the hood, Oppo is packing a 4,500mAh battery into the phone. The Reno 8 will get improved 80W fast charging, which is faster than the 65W charging in the Reno 7 series. There will be a 32MP sensor for selfies and video calls. More details about the Reno series should appear online in the coming days.
