“Peak Performance”: Apple’s next hardware event will take place on March 8

Apple will be streaming its next hardware event to the masses on March 8 at 10:00 AM PT (1:00 PM ET), the company announced today. Invitations have already been sent out to the press, although the event will be another pre-recorded streaming presentation with no media present. Apple SVP of Marketing Greg Joswiak tweeted the now-familiar Apple logo teaser video that doesn’t actually tease anything.

We never know exactly what will be announced at any Apple event, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the lineup will include an update to the budget iPhone SE and the first iPad Air update in just over a year.

There have also been rumors of redesigned and new Apple Silicon chips for the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro, as well as the high-end Intel Mac Mini, 27-inch iMac, and Mac Pro, all still powered by Intel chips.
