An insider claims that Rockstar Games may announce a new project very soon

French journalist Chris Klippel recently tweeted that Rockstar Games is preparing to announce a “new project”relatively soon. What that project might be is anyone’s guess, but the gaming community hasn’t heard from the publisher in a long time since the next GTA game was announced earlier this year.

Klippel has a long track record of breaking news from the Rockstar Games camp to official announcements and the like, lending credibility to his claim. There are several publisher rumors floating around the internet, such as Red Dead Redemption remasters and its sequel, but no official announcement has been made.

Rockstar is practically sitting on a treasure trove of IP right now, and given the track record of huge success they’ve had in the past, the publisher’s new project is extremely exciting.

New project for Rockstar Games may be announced soon

Obviously, an announcement is preparing. I don’t know yet when, or what it will concern, but it would be “a new project”. It can happen relatively quickly. ? pic.twitter.com/Gr0Sgxzdua

Summer Game Fest is just around the corner and Kaley has announced the confirmation of about 30 partners. While the current roster does not include Rockstar Games, Kaley also mentioned that new partners will be announced soon.

There’s a good chance that Rockstar Games could be a surprise addition to the lineup and show up at Summer Game Fest with the announcement of their new project. Klippel claims that a new announcement is likely to be made relatively soon, and Summer Game Fest seems to be as good a venue for game announcements as any.

June is already shaping up to be a pretty exciting time for gamers as Xbox and Bethesda gear up to unveil big guns as part of the Summer Game Fest. The PlayStation also likely has something up its sleeve, and Activision will likely share more information about Call of Duty Modern Warfare II.
