Mortal Kombat 2: Simon McQuoid returns as director

The continuation of the new film adaptation of the Mortal Kombat license will be directed by Simon McQuoid.

Fired for no reason by New Line Cinema and Warner Bros, director Simon McQuoid will finally be working on Mortal Kombat 2 with writer Jeremy Slater (the story no longer appears to be in the hands of Greg Russo, Dave Callaham and Oren Uziel). Creators Ed Boon and John Tobias will continue to direct, while Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Victoria Palmeri, Michael Clear, Jeremy Stein and Larry Kasanoff will return to their executive producer roles. Finally, James Wan of Atomic Monster, Todd Garner of Broken Road Production, and E. Bennett Walsh may also be producing.
