‘Papers, Please’ Coming to Mobile Devices August 5th

Nearly a decade after creator Lucas Pope rose to fame, the indie game Papers, Please is finally making its way to smartphones. An American video game designer recently revealed on Twitter that the game will be available on Android and iOS next month. “Papers, Please”, but small. August 5″can we read. Prior to this announcement, the game had only been available on the iPad since 2014, as far as mobile devices are concerned.

On Twitter, Lucas Pope explained that he spent about eight months developing this new port. Much of the work involved updating the user interface and making small changes to make the game playable on smaller screens. “No zoom,” Lucas Pope replied to a question about the user interface. “I have really poor eyesight and I wanted the game to look as natural as possible on a smartphone, so the interface is focused on that.”

For those hoping to be able to play Papers Please on PlayStation or Xbox, know that Lucas Pope also has information on the subject: “In time for a console release in 2031,”he jokes. In another tweet, he explains that the mobile version will be a separate release, but if you already own the game on an iPad, you can get it for free.

The arrival of Papers, Please on smartphones will allow a new audience to access one of the most creative games of this decade. In Papers, Please, you play as a border guard serving in a country that may have belonged to the USSR, Arstotzka. Basically, you will have to check information about immigrants wishing to enter Arstotzka and look for inconsistencies in their documents. At almost every stage of the game, Papers, Please presents the player with moral dilemmas, including asking them to think about how someone can maintain their humanity while doing a job that is so often brutal.
