Alexa can be a great help in cleaning your home. Here are five interesting tips.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the devices in our connected home could also take care of cleaning it up? No need to spend time washing dishes, doing laundry, cleaning in this or that room, we delegate all these tasks to our favorite voice assistant, Alexa or another, and its army of connected devices.

Although the technology is not yet advanced enough for this, a voice assistant can help. Alexa can help you plan your cleaning sessions, order the groceries you need, and more generally, make these rather thankless tasks easier. Here are five tips to help you use Alexa to clean your home.

Use Alexa to Organize Your Cleaning Program

If all this is piling up because you regularly forget to do your housework, Alexa can help. Turn on the Cleaning Buddy skill in the Alexa app and say “Alexa, start Cleaning Buddy”. You can then add tasks according to the schedule optimized for you.

Use Alexa to order cleaning products

Do not have time to put things in order because you no longer have this or that product? No more excuses! Let Alexa take control of everything on Amazon when you need it.

To set it up, follow these steps:

1. Connect to the Alexa app.
2. Go to the menu, then to Settings.
3. Select “Account Settings”and click “Voice Purchases”.
4. Activate the option.
5. Select a four-digit code and enter it in the corresponding field.
6. Click Save Changes.
7. Finally, go to View Payment Settings and enable One-Click Payment.

Now, to place an order, all you have to do is say, “Alexa, order <<product and/or brand name>> from Amazon.”Alexa will ask for your code to confirm your purchase.

Automate cleaning with two robots

If you hate vacuuming, try automating this task. Today, there are many robotic vacuum cleaners that can do the job for you.

If it’s still too difficult for you to press the button to start the operation, you can connect a Neato or Roomba vacuum cleaner to Alexa. You then control it with your voice by saying, “Alexa, ask Neato to start cleaning.”

Smart Laundry with Alexa

Laundry is a never ending process. Alexa can help you.

First, if you live in a supported city (currently around 100 in the US), you can use Laundrapp’s voice service. Just say “Alexa, ask Laundrapp to pick up my laundry on Friday”and someone will pick up your dirty laundry and then return it to you after washing.
