Anker introduces its first 3D printer. AnkerMake M5 is not without merit.

Anker, a company known primarily for its interchangeable products, has decided to enter the 3D printing market. The company has just announced AnkerMake, its new 3D printer brand, and its very first model called the AnkerMake M5. According to the manufacturer, the M5 printer solves one of the main problems of this kind of technology, namely the relatively low speed of the process.

Anker introduces its first 3D printer

AnkerMake M5 offers a base print speed of 250mm/s, which will be the speed for your detailed projects that require the most precise finishing possible. However, the printer also has a much faster mode, allowing you to print at speeds up to 2500mm/s. The result is obviously much more raw, less detailed. This will only work for printing prototypes and other basic accessories, but Anker says it allows the M5 to cut print times by up to 70% compared to other 3D printers on the market.

AnkerMake M5 is not without assets

In addition to being fast, the AnkerMake M5 has been thought out and designed to be easy to use. Preparing to print takes only about 15 minutes. And to solve another well-known problem with 3D printers, namely the need to constantly monitor the process, Anker gave its M5 the ability to track print jobs using an artificial intelligence camera. If the latter detects a problem, such as a clogged print head, it can send an alert to your smartphone. Best of all, you can view your printing progress in real time through the Anker mobile app, wherever you are.

In any case, these are very good promises on paper. It’s just a Kickstarter project right now, which means it could be a long time before we get our hands on it, as the funding goal has pretty much been met. In any case, if you’re interested, know that you can reserve your AnkerMake M5 now for a discounted price of $599 (€548) excluding shipping. First deliveries are expected in November 2022.
