Apex Legends Mobile Launched: Everything you need to know about download size, in-app purchases and more
Apex Legends Mobile is finally out and fans can now head to the Google Play Store (for Android) or the App Store (for iOS) and download the game. Those who pre-register will have access to a range of in-game rewards, such as the Sunfire Initiate Epic Skin and the Become Legendary holo spray.
Apex Legends Mobile is the latest offering from Respawn Entertainment and Tencent and is a completely independent game built from the ground up. Mobile optimizations include a new third-person mode that allows players to view the action more widely compared to console/PC’s lock-down first-person perspective.
The game also includes a brand new legend, Fade, which will be exclusive to the mobile version of the game. Fade is a brand new character designed specifically for the control and feel of playing on mobile devices.
Apex Legends Mobile Global Launch Now Available
As EA notified earlier last week, the game will not feature the fan-favorite King’s Canyon map in the battle royale map rotation. Parts of the map will continue to be available in Team Deathmatch and Arenas.
Modes such as Team Deathmatch are new to Apex Legends fans as they are not currently available on console/PC. The game will use the mythos and lore of Outland, but will operate completely independent of the console/PC version. Like its HD counterpart, Apex Legends Mobile will also have seasons, but in contrast, there will be a new season every month compared to the bi-monthly release on console and PC.
The download size at launch is 2.70 GB and the game will have in-app purchases limited to cosmetics such as weapon skins and legends. It should be noted that these purchases are purely cosmetic and power-ups such as Legend Perks cannot be purchased from the in-game market and can only be unlocked through gameplay.
