Apple iPhone 14 may have a punch-hole camera display
It’s been a few months since Apple released the iPhone 13 series. Enter the new year and the rumor mill has started working on the next iPhone. Apple’s upcoming smartphone, dubbed the iPhone 14 series, will feature several improvements over its predecessor, according to the latest report. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (via MacRumors) claims that the upcoming Apple iPhone will include the much- anticipated change of removing the notch. The analyst claims that Apple will say goodbye to “certain iPhone 14 models”that will be released later this year. Rumor has it that the Pro models will get a punch hole, while the standard models will still have a notch.
Apple iPhone 14 display features
The Apple iPhone 14 series will debut in September, assuming the global supply chain and engineering keep the currently improving situation. The company is expected to release at least four new iPhone 14 models. Two of the new iPhones will carry the Pro moniker and will likely feature a notch at the top center. The introduction of a hole punch will mean Face ID sensors can be inserted under the display, with the front camera located inside the notch.
The Pro models, which are likely to have 6.1 and 6.7-inch displays, may have a notch. Analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and The Elec have previously stated that non-professional devices will still have a wide range. Apple is said to be ditching the mini iPhone and instead launching the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 alongside the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max.
The company is also reportedly using a 48-megapixel main camera sensor on the Pro models. An iPhone 14 Pro Max design rendering leaked by whistleblower Jon Prosser shows the device will have a triple camera setup on the back and a titanium build.
Gurman also claims that Apple will release a new entry-level MacBook Air with an M2 chip that will be slightly faster than the M1 chip. The new M-series chip will most likely feature an 8-core CPU like the M1 chip, but will have a 9-core or 10-core GPU. Other updates include an iPad Pro series with wireless charging support, three new Apple Watch models, a new iPhone SE with 5G, and a much-rumored AR/VR headset. Apple is also expected to release a smaller Mac Pro with an M-series processor, as well as a new Mac mini and larger iMac.
