Apple iPhone 14 may have a 48MP primary sensor
48 MP sensor in iPhone 14? This is what Ming-Chi Kuo thinks she knows.
With each new generation of electronic device, whatever it may be, its share of improvements and novelties. This is especially important for Apple and its iPhone, which makes it a point of honor to always do better, and this is in all areas of the smartphone. In the iPhone 14, we can see a definite improvement in the main sensor.
48 MP sensor in iPhone 14?
As for the iPhone’s photo/video sensors, the Cupertino-based company has never gone overboard, so to speak, when we know competitors sometimes build sensors that offer up to 108MP. For example, if you look at the specifications of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which is currently the best from the Apple brand, you will see that it only has a 12 PM sensor.
This is what Ming-Chi Kuo thinks he knows
That said, according to a Twitter post by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple may decide to significantly improve the situation with its iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models to offer a 48 MP sensor. As a result of the operation, it would be logical to expect that the growth on the back of the device is slightly larger.
In any case, it would be a nice improvement over the iPhone 13’s 12-megapixel camera, although one might logically wonder about the real gain in terms of image quality. To be honest, high resolution shots are more suitable for professionals who print their photos frequently and can’t afford to lose too much detail.
Since social media platforms compress photos and we mostly view them on smaller screens, it’s hard to see the benefits of a 108-megapixel sensor by eye. However, it’s still a few months away from the official announcement of this iPhone 14, so we’ll take this information with a pinch of salt, even if it comes from the always very well-informed Ming-Chi Kuo.
