Apple hires former Lamborghini exec to head up its rumored electric car
Is Apple working on an electric car? Probably. Rumors about Project Titan have been around for so long that if Apple does eventually introduce any car, it will inevitably lead many people to respond “About time.”Until then, however, we have reports that Apple is hiring people to work on the legendary machine.
Here’s another one! Apple has hired a former key Lamborghini executive, according to a Bloomberg report . That person is Luigi Taraborrelli, and during his time at Lamborghini, he helped lead the design of the car during his 20 years with the company. This includes the development of vehicle dynamics and chassis.
For now, it seems that Taraborrelli will lead the design of Apple’s much-rumored electric car. And it would certainly be an interesting design if the rumor mill has any opinion on the matter. It was recently reported that Apple is apparently looking to build a fully autonomous vehicle with four inward-facing seats inside.
In addition, the car is said to have a domed roof, similar in style to the Volkswagen Beetle, and a trunk that lifts automatically.
Or maybe none of this will work and Apple will just keep working on autonomous vehicle software instead of launching a real car. Who knows! We just have to wait and see how it all shakes up.
