Apple Warns MacBook Pro and Pro Display XDR Users About “Limited Brightness” Error

Apple is reporting a possible annoying bug on the Pro Display XDR and 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros. Under certain conditions, the message “Limited brightness”may appear.

The Apple Pro Display XDR is the product for the cheapest. Of course, we can say that the device is aimed primarily at professionals who need resolution and color accuracy, but even then it is a very expensive accessory. And, unfortunately, it seems that this screen, as well as the panels of the new Apple 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, raise certain concerns.

Apple Reports Potential Frustrating Bug on Pro Display XDR and 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros

According to a new help document posted by Apple, the Cupertino company is warning owners of these devices that they may see an error message informing them of “limited brightness”. The Apple brand explains that “this can happen if the ambient temperature in the room is high and you display very bright content for a long time.”

To address this issue, Apple says Mac Book Pro users should close applications that consume a lot of system resources, and those using Pro Display XDR should put their display into reference mode. The Cupertino-based company is also suggesting lowering ambient temperatures and closing or hiding windows that can display or play HDR content.

Apple explains that if the problem persists despite ambient temperatures below 25°C, contact the Cupertino company. That said, it would seem that the problem is not very common, especially since we are hearing about it for the first time after the Pro Display XDR has been on the market for several years.

However, we can only imagine that this problem must be very annoying for those who have spent a lot of money on this screen or one of these new MacBook Pros. We hope that the Apple brand will be able to solve this problem in the near future.
