Apple Expands iPhone Repair Program to Europe and the UK

Apple’s iPhone Repair Program now allows customers in the UK and seven European countries to purchase genuine Apple parts, download free repair manuals, and more.

  • What is happening? Apple’s Self-Service iPhone Repair Program is now available to Europeans living in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain or Sweden, and residents of the UK.
  • Why care? Customers in Europe can now purchase genuine Apple parts and do their own iPhone battery replacements, screen repairs, and more.
  • What to do? Check out selfservicerepair.com for parts and tools.

Apple self-service iPhone and Mac repair available in Europe

According to an announcement posted in Apple Newsroom, the iPhone Repair Program allows customers to perform standard repairs on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lines. This also includes Mac laptops with Apple silicon.

Every genuine Apple part is designed and engineered for every product and rigorously tested to ensure the highest quality, safety, and reliability. Parts are the same—at the same price—as those available from the Apple Authorized Repair Shop network.

You can buy these parts cheaper:

Customers can send replaced parts back to Apple for refurbishment and recycling, and in many cases receive a refund for their purchase.

iPhone and Mac repair is anything but trivial. The vast majority of customers are much better off taking their iPhone or Mac to an authorized repair shop.

Tool kits will also be available.

As in the United States, Apple will also offer its $49 tool rental kits to European customers. This kit comes in two trolley cases that contain everything you need for the repair. This can come in handy if you need to repair more than one device. The repair kit is provided to customers free of charge for seven days.

The Apple Self-Service Store at selfservicerepair.com has over 200 individual parts, tools, and repair guides for supported iPhones and Mac laptops with M1 and M2 processors.

Not so long ago, this material was exclusive to authorized repair providers, but Apple was under intense pressure from the Right to Repair movement to open these tools to the general public. There are the same tools used by Apple Store Service Technicians and Authorized Service Providers.

The self-repair program debuted in the US on November 17, 2021.

On August 22, 2022, the Cupertino-based company added Mac laptops to its self-repair initiative. People can now purchase genuine Apple parts and download free repair manuals for MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and the latest iPhones.
