Apple made a completely transparent AirPods prototype

The photo shows a transparent AirPods prototype, a very interesting design that Apple did not develop.

Apple AirPods are easily recognizable by their white color. That being said, it seems that during the prototyping phase, the Cupertino-based company made a pair of AirPods with a transparent case, giving the whole thing a pretty pretty look. There are probably many users who would like this version to become a reality, although unfortunately we have to admit that this is unlikely to happen.. .

Pictures of these Apple-made transparent AirPods were tweeted by Giulio Zompetti, a well-known Apple device collector, as prototypes and the like. These AirPods are clearly the first generation, as can be seen from their long stem. Thus, we can see a transparent shell around the stem of the earphones. Unfortunately, the entire piece that ends up in the ear is plain white plastic as we know it well.

A very interesting design that Apple abandoned

This version was obviously never made for sale, but it must be admitted that the result is quite successful. The first-generation AirPods were a welcome reminder of the EarPods that the Cupertino-based company used to include in their iPhone boxes with fewer wires. The Apple brand has since redesigned its AirPods, introducing the latest model with a much shorter stem.

The American giant is also due to introduce the third generation of AirPods Pro in 2022. Either way, we can’t help but wonder what the first designs and prototypes of these AirPods Pro might look like. I hope Giulio Zompetti will be able to satisfy our curiosity in the future by sharing new pictures.
