Apple WWDC: Don’t Announce New Hardware
No new equipment during WWDC 2022? This is what Mark Gurman thinks he knows
The traditional conference dedicated to Apple developers, WWDC, has not yet been officially announced by the Cupertino company, but those who hoped to get the right to announce new products in these few days will surely be disappointed. At least that’s what Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman says in his Power On newsletter. WWDC is not supposed to represent new Apple hardware.
No new equipment during WWDC 2022?
And in the end it would be quite logical if that were the case. Indeed, the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference is usually a software event, the Apple brand presents the following major versions of its software for its products such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. And while the American giant has already formalized some devices during these events in the past, these few days are usually more focused on software.

However, there are a number of rumors suggesting that the Cupertino-based company is working on a new MacBook Air with a new design, as well as a new generation of 13-inch MacBook Pro that hasn’t been updated since 2020. Undoubtedly, there are customers who hope that these machines will be announced during WWDC.
Unfortunately, if you’re waiting to discover the new MacBook Air or the new 13-inch MacBook Pro, you’ll certainly have to be patient, as these new machines often go official much later in the year. These two models should also make it possible to introduce the M2 chip, and who knows, maybe Apple will be able to give us a glimpse of it during this WWDC conference. In any case, we’ll have to wait to find out exactly what it’s all about, as WWDC usually takes place in early June.
