A couple of days ago, Asus surprised everyone on Twitter by hinting at the launch of a new Asus OLED laptop on March 3rd. While everyone was waiting for Asus to release a new OLED TV, it turns out that the company has been announcing a new detachable Windows laptop with an OLED screen all along. Called the Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED, this is the company’s brand new 2-in-1 laptop. With this new launch, the brand is aiming for users to use the new Slate OLED as their personal OLED TV. Starting from the display, the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED features a 13.3-inch OLED display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 1920 x 1080 resolution, up to 550 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision support and finally it is also certified. TÜV Rheinland and Pantone have confirmed color accuracy. It is also the world’s first 13.3-inch detachable laptop with a Windows OLED display. The tablet also features the new ASUS Pen 2.0 Stylus (4096 pressure levels, 266Hz sampling rate), a detachable full-size keyboard with magnets, and a detachable hinge that rotates almost completely 170 degrees.
In addition, the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is equipped with four Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers. The device is powered by a 50 Wh rechargeable battery, which is designed for 9 hours of battery life without recharging. Under the hood, the device is supported by an Intel Pentium Silver N6000 processor, Intel UHD graphics with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB or 256GB SSD options. The machine is running Windows 11 operating system.
Other features include Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) + Bluetooth 5.2 (dual-band) 2*2, 65W charger, weight 0.78kg, thickness 7.9mm, Corning Gorilla Glass and MS Office Home & Student 2021. Finally, in terms of port options, you get two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports with support for external display and power delivery, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a micro SD card reader.
