Avatar: Path of Water, the new title of Avatar 2
Avatar 2 will officially be called Avatar: The Path of Water.
In addition to formalizing the official title of the Avatar 2 film, which is still slated for a December 16 release in US theaters, Disney took advantage of CinemaCon 2022 to highlight the synopsis: “More than a decade after the events of Avatar and the destruction of the treehouse, Way Waters begins the story of the Sally family (Jake, Neytiri and their children Neteyam, Loak, Tuktirey and Spider), the problems that haunt them, the trials they go through to protect each other, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they experience. ”
Avatar: The Way of the Water is directed by James Cameron, who also shares producer status with Jon Landau. Along with returning comedians Sam Worthington, Degree Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dilip Rao, CC H Pounder, Matt Gerald and Sigourney Weaver are back in the cast, the cast welcomes newcomers Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, David Thewlis, Vin Diesel and CJ Jones.
The trailer for Avatar: The Way of the Water is coming soon.
The trailer for The Way of Water will be released exclusively in theaters alongside Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which hits theaters next week – starting May 4th internationally and May 6th domestically. It will be online in a week. As James Cameron always promised, Avatar 2 takes place in and around the ocean. The sequel is even more impressive with its deep blue images. After previewing the footage, Deadline said: “We see Na’vi on flying fish-bird creatures communicating with a whale, and yet somehow separated despite their closeness to nature. The alien humans are divided, clashing in gun vs arrow combat. It really is a whole new world that ups the stakes of the previous original film. “
