BeBigger, iSlope, Any Text and more apps to try this weekend
Congratulations! You’ve made it to the weekend again, which means it’s time for another review of the apps of the week. We’ve got some fantastic options this week, including a new fitness-focused social network, the perfect skiing companion, and an amazingly powerful lock screen widget. And, as always, we have chosen a new fun game for you.
Be more
I’m sure this app won’t be for everyone, but if you’re really into fitness, or maybe you’ve decided to start with the new year, this app can help you. Basically, it’s BeReal for gym lovers, designed to inspire and motivate. Once a day, you take pre- and post-workout photos to share with friends who can cheer you up with a pump emoji, and you can use those photos to track your progress over time.
iSlope – ski tracker
I’m not exactly a “ski guy”but it’s the middle of winter and I think it’s a good time to go skiing. And if you love skiing and are going to ski, you should try iSlope. It bills itself as the perfect skiing companion with features like 2D and 3D maps, speed, distance and altitude tracking, finding friends and even a leaderboard feature to compete against others.
Any text – lock screen widgets
Any Text is a widget that allows you to put any text on your lock screen. Think about reminders, affirmations, goals, to-do lists, etc. Now, at first glance, you might be thinking: okay, well, that’s not impressive at all, you mean that I have to manually enter new text every time? Nope. Secretly, this app is very powerful as it is fully scriptable through the Shortcuts app. This means you can program it to grab text from other apps, change text based on the time of day or your location, and it can even get your favorite sports team’s results. The sky is the limit.
simple circle
How fast can you click? Simple Circle is a simple yet challenging game where you have to touch as many circles as you can before they explode. The more circles you hit, the higher your score will be. Think of it like the classic Hit the Mole game, but with exploding circles instead of disappearing moles. I like fast reflex games like this that are fast to start and play and also have a leaderboard to keep track of your new highs.
