Beep Test Watch, Please Don’t Rain, Shortify and more apps to test this weekend
It’s the weekend again, which means it’s time for another one of our app reviews of the week! We’ve got some great options for you this week, including the Apple Watch fitness test, another weather app, and an app that wants to save you time. And, as always, we have chosen an interesting game for you.
Clock to check the sound signal
Today I learned what a sound test is – it is a fitness test in which you run back and forth between two markers located at a distance of 20 meters from each other. Every minute or so the next level starts – the time between beeps gets shorter and you have to run faster. If you fail to reach the marker before the beep, you receive a warning and a second warning ends the test. Apparently, this is considered the ultimate fitness test, and is used by everyone from the military to police and firefighters. Either way, this Apple Watch app will help you run a sound test, track your time, and calculate your VO2 max. I don’t like the price, but I LOVE the idea.
Please don’t rain
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a new weather app worth mentioning. Please Don’t Rain provides a fun and easy way to track the weather at a specific time and location. So when you have an important event coming up, instead of just looking at the general forecast, you tell PDR the day and place your event will take place, and you get detailed weather information specific to that day and place. Will it rain at 6 Flags next Saturday? Is it supposed to snow on the weekend when we’re going camping? Unfortunately, some features like automatic updates are hidden behind the Pro paywall, but I still love the idea of targeted weather reports like this.
Reduction saves time
It’s pretty impressive. Shortify summarizes everything you read and even works with YouTube videos. So when a friend sends you a 10-minute YoTube video saying, “You should watch this,” boom, Shortify! Or you have a long article saved but just can’t find the time to get to it—boom, Shortify! It works across all apps and is privacy oriented. It says “start free”so I’m guessing you’ll start being charged at some point, but it’s an app worth checking out nonetheless.
window jiggle
Window Wiggle is a fun and sometimes weird skill-based autorun. The mechanics here are super unique – you’re essentially controlling a car window, which obviously just moves up and down, and you just use the window to move your game piece up and down through an obstacle course. There are over 100 game elements to collect, including hot dogs and bananas, relaxing LoFi music, interesting fun facts, and more. It seems like the perfect game to check out this weekend.
