Authors will be hired over the next few weeks to help him develop the knowledge properly while respecting the narrative structures of previous adaptations.
Blade Runner 2099 after Blade Runner 2049?
In Denis Villeneuve’s sequel, Blade Runner 2099 may take place 50 years after Blade Runner 2049 and therefore 80 years after Blade Runner. Along with the main license, Blade Runner: Black Lotus debuted on Adult Swim and Crunchyroll late last year. Set in the year 2032 in Los Angeles, this spin-off centers on a female replicant, played by Jessica Henwick, who wakes up with no memories other than having the skills to fight and kill. Her only clues are a locked data device and a black lotus tattoo on her skin. Collecting the pieces of her memory, she must track down those responsible for her violent and bloody past in order to learn the truth about her lost identity.
