iPad Pro is a feature-packed device that combines the convenience of a large touchscreen with the portability of an iPhone, and the power and capabilities of a Mac. What’s more, after Apple introduced the M-series chip for the iPad Pro, many are even starting to see it as a replacement for the Mac. However, the iPad Pro still lacks wireless charging by default, and this is where PitaFlow comes into play.

PitaFlow is a collection of MagEZ Case Pro and MagEZ Stand. This combo is guaranteed to change the way you use your iPad Pro! I have always been a fan of Pitaka products and I am more than happy to introduce you to their premium offering.

In this in-depth PitaFlow for iPad Pro review, I’ll cover everything you need to know to make your buying decision. I will not introduce any bias into the review and will honestly share everything I think about the product.

Pitaka is about to change the way you use your iPad Pro

Due to how powerful the iPad Pro is getting, some users prefer its Apple Silicon based MacBook. Even Apple knows about it, so they promote it with Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard.

Regardless, Apple still hasn’t given up on many of the features that the iPad Pro deserves. iPad features include iPhone-like Magsafe support and wireless charging. Luckily, Pitaka has brought these features to the iPad in a way that perhaps even Apple didn’t think of.

With the Pitaka MagEZ Pro case, you get magnetic charging support and a MagEZ stand. You can easily set up your iPad as an external display and get a mini version of the Mac itself! As soon as I received the box, I started to unpack it and let my thoughts flow.

Backpack MagEZ Pro case

First, let’s start with the Pitaka MagEZ Pro Case, as you’ll need to put the case on first to charge your iPad wirelessly with the PITAKA Magnetic Stand and PitaFlow Charger.

Unboxing Experience

I always enjoy unboxing Apple products because of how enjoyable it is, and I also expect the same level of experience from just about any product I unbox right now. Luckily, Pitaka ensures that you get a completely superior experience when holding the box with the PitaFlow case and stand.

The packing box is strong, which provides sufficient protection for your case during transportation. I also liked the magnetic protection it provides, which also acts as an easter egg.

What’s impressive is that Pitaka is sincerely committed to providing an amazing unboxing, and not just delivering a product in poor quality packaging. The overall packaging is minimal, and you’ll be greeted first by the Pitaka MagEZ Pro case.

Below is another box consisting of a PitaFlow charger and documentation. For those who are confused, there is a QR code on the inside of the valve. Unfortunately, I had a hard time scanning the code as it was black, which blended in with the dark charcoal color of the patch.

Once the code is discovered, you will be redirected to the official Pitaka YouTube channel, where you can check out all the tutorials on how to use the MagEZ Pro case.

Build quality

The PITAKA MagEZ Pro case is made of aramid fiber with a melt-down curl. Aramid is 5 times stronger than steel for the same weight. Despite this, the body is thin and light. The MagEZ Pro case is the perfect fit for iPad Pro, providing standard protection without bulking up the device.

The case also has raised edges around the rear camera module to resist scratches when placed on a flat surface. Pitaka managed to add magnets and a wireless charging pad to the case while keeping it compact. Hence, you can easily connect your iPad Pro to the Magic Keyboard, and also provide uninterrupted charging between iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard.

You can also attach and charge your Apple Pencil to the case, unless it is covered by a case or leather.

While I like the design and color options, the case is easily fingerprinted and gets dirty quickly. It is difficult to clean and will be much worse if you have a greasy finger. This is a common problem with carbon/aramid fiber products.

Being super thin, the case folded easily and I got scared when my friends checked and fiddled with the product.

Charging with a PitaFlow charger

The PitaFlow charger that comes with it is quite durable and made of high quality material. All you need to do is connect the wire to the adapter and then attach the PitaFlow magnet to the back. It will start charging without problems.

However, I could not find the maximum supported speed from the PitaFlow charger either on the official website or on the Amazon listing. We will let you know when we receive official confirmation from the brand. In addition, the quality of the charging wire does not justify the overall price.

However, I would give Pitaka the benefit of the doubt as these products are primarily for desktop installations and there is little chance of them being damaged. The charger also has a rubber pad to keep the MagEZ case free of scratches.

Verdict

The MagEZ Pro case is a great product to try and allows you to charge your iPad wirelessly. However, I wish the case was more durable and I hope to see an improvement in the quality of the wires for the PitaFlow charger.

Wallet MagEZ Stand

Now let’s take a look at the MagEZ stand, or what I would like to call a “Pro Mini Stand”. It reminds me of the infamous Pro Display XDR stand, but the size of an iPad Pro.

Unpacking and installation experience

The unpacking process was similar to the MagEZ Pro case, although I had to work hard to get it out of the box because it was tightly packed to keep the product safe. It comes with a hex wrench and two mounting screws.

The installation process was easier than expected. First you need to align the stand with the base and insert the screws into the holes. Then tighten them with a hex wrench.

Build quality

The stand is built like a tank. The wireless charging dock has a rubber pad to protect your iPhone. Along with this, there is also the Pitaka branding. At the top is a magnetic head with a rubber gasket and magnets to hold the iPad Pro case in place.

As for the rear view, you can find the Pitaka logo, but everything else is clean. For those wondering what’s under the wireless dock, there’s ventilation and it’s raised off the surface for better placement on the desk with a grip.

Installing an iPad Pro

Thanks to the magnets at the top of the stand, you can position your iPad however you want, and even after attaching it, you can rotate it. However, I would appreciate it if the head could be moved horizontally, in addition to tilting vertically, to give users full flexibility.

Wireless charger

With the wireless charging pad at the base, you can charge your iPhone or any other Qi-enabled smartphone.

In terms of charging speed, you can wirelessly charge any iPhone up to 7.5W and Android smartphones up to 15W. In addition to smartphones, you can also charge your headphones. However, as you might guess, this wireless charging pad is not MFi certified, so don’t expect fast charging.

As with the PitaFlow charger, I found the fire quality to be subpar; hence I would prefer a higher quality wire than the current one.

How to charge iPad Pro wirelessly with PitaFlow

Once you put on the MagEZ Pro case and attach the MagEZ stand, wireless charging your iPad Pro is pretty easy. All you have to do is place your iPad over the stand and it will quickly click into place. Once perfectly positioned, your iPad will start charging easily.

Verdict

The Pitaka MagEZ stand is an amazing product. If you can combine any iPad MagEZ with it, you can charge the device wirelessly. The build quality is top-notch, and the ability to wirelessly charge smartphones and other accessories is a bonus.

If only the quality of the wires were improved, the wireless charging pad could get MFi support.
