BGMI India Series 2021: Krafton Bans 5 Teams, Round 3 Schedule Already Announced

iQOO Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Series 2021 is in full swing and Round 3 kicked off last night with pro team Velocity Gaming eliminated from the tournament. Day 1 was pretty exciting for players and spectators alike, but along the way Crafton banned 5 teams from the tournament for breaking the rules in round 2.

Team India Lions and X Esports were banned in the second round, while Flow Esports, Team Hell God and Team WXXD received bans earlier this week. Krafton has yet to publicly confirm the specific rule violations that resulted in these teams being banned. Online speculation suggests that teams may have used cheats to gain an unfair advantage during matches.

In the third round, the online qualifiers will face 32 invited professional teams for the tournament. In the Round 1 match, 3 Team XO maintained their streak of dominance in Group 3 from The Grind and eventually made it to the podium with 13 points for 3rd place. Team Outset finished 2nd with 22 points and Team Mayavix were the big winners of Match 1.

Team XO has consistently remained in the top 3 of Group 3 throughout the matches, so it looks like they could be one of the biggest favorites during tournaments. FPS Gaming and Team Outset also had great results on their first day of play, and it looks like they could be in it for the long haul.

It will be interesting to see which of the 32 invited teams can stand against the 224 online qualifiers from Round 2 and advance to the quarter-finals. Each group will play 3 matches and the top 4 teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals. Groups 5-8 will battle it out tonight in the BGMI India Series.
