Camouflaj opens its first subsidiary in Japan
The day-to-day operations of Camouflaj Holdings will be managed by Matt Walker along with “location legend”Alexander O. Smith.
Founded in 2011 by Ryan Payton (Metal Gear Solid 4, Halo 4, Shenmue 3) and currently employing about 70 developers, Seattle-based indie studio Camouflaj intends to expand its development efforts by opening Camouflaj Holdings in Kamakura. Japan.
“We are thrilled to start a new chapter in the history of Camouflaj with the opening of a studio in Japan,” said Matt Walker, former Capcom producer (Devil May Cry 5). “Our second facility will strengthen our ability to create high-quality, globally relevant games. The release of République Anniversary Edition on PS4, PS VR and Nintendo Switch is a celebration of the studio’s first decade of existence. I can’t wait for players to know what we mean when we say we’re making meaningful games while reliving the history of the Republic, which I believe is even more relevant today than it was then, since the first episode in 2013.”
