Certain jailbreak customizations that need rooting can be converted into rootless ones with the new Derootifier program.
The majority of the jailbreak community is starting to transition to the rootless dynamic, which may present some challenges for users of jailbreak tweaks that were previously designed for rootful jailbreaks.
Derootifier, a new and free tool created by iOS developer haxi0, claims to be able to «de-rootify» jailbreak customizations that were designed for rootful jailbreaks in order to make them compatible with rootless jailbreaks like Fugu15 Max/Dopamine.
When the software is installed, it displays a location where the user can choose a. deb file for a rootful jailbreak tweak and try to turn it into a rootless jailbreak tweak, as seen above.
Obviously, there may not be a way to adapt a jailbreak tweak to support rootless if it depends on elements outside the scope of a rootless jailbreak. The easiest way to avoid this is for developers to create rootless-supported jailbreak tweaks out of the gate since there will be instances of this happening.
