To retain its employees, Apple will receive bonuses of up to $180,000.
Apple is trying to preserve talent by offering significant bonuses to employees who can be poached.
Hiring new employees is not difficult. On the other hand, the ability to retain them over time, especially the most talented ones, is a completely different story. In the high-tech world, and especially in Silicon Valley, brain drain and depravity are commonplace. Tech giants practice this and are also victims of it. Apple decided to go to any lengths to limit the breakage.
Apple goes to the box office to keep its talents
Indeed, according to a Bloomberg report, it would seem that in order to keep its employees eager to see if the grass is greener elsewhere, the Cupertino-based company has decided to offer more than substantial bonuses. The article claims that the apple brand is trying to keep its engineers and developers by offering them substantial bonuses ranging from $50,000 to $180,000. However, these bonuses will not be in the form of cash, but will be options for a four-year period.
Offer substantial bonuses to employees who may be poached
This means that in order to truly take advantage of these bonuses in full, qualifying employees will need to stay with Apple for the entirety of that four-year period. Moreover, these bonuses will not be part of the regular compensation packages Cupertino pays to its employees. These are real added bonuses that will be seen as real benefits.
Employee poaching happens very often in all areas of activity, and we have already seen that competitors of the Apple brand have managed to hire some employees of the giant, and at the same time, we have also seen more than once Apple will convince a particular employee of another company. It is, of course, a game, and in this game the one with the most money often wins.
