A Plague Tale: Requiem release date may have leaked to Xbox Store UK
The release date for A Plague Tale: Requiem may have been revealed prematurely due to a listing on the UK Xbox Store. The store says the game was released on June 16th. While the listing shows a 2021 release date, it’s more than likely that the date could be updated to reflect a 2022 release date.
This should be taken with a grain of salt, as when combined with the “2021”list, it can be inferred that the date is just a placeholder. That said, a June release date doesn’t seem all that unrealistic for an upcoming action adventure from Asobo and Focus Home Interactive.
A Plague Tale: Requiem is the sequel to 2019’s A Plague Tale: Innocence and has become one of the most amazing hits of the year. The sequel will follow the siblings’ journey into an even darker version of the world featured in the first game.
A Plague Tale: Requiem May Release This June
Publishers and studios usually step up marketing when it can be only 3 months before the release of the game, but so far there haven’t been many trailers and gameplay from the studio. This is another reason why the June release date might just be a placeholder.
The success of the original game, both commercially and critically, has raised the stakes for the studio to up its game when it comes to a sequel. It’s a proper, high-profile release and one of the highlights of the year if the game is released in 2022.
A Plague Tale: Innocence has competed for Game of the Year at several awards shows and has been a strong contender in all of them. The sequel is expected to keep the seriousness of the original but expand on some of its more ambitious ideas. It will be interesting to see if the studio decides to explore new creative directions or stick with the formula that worked for the original.
