Since this sci-fi horror video game is a reboot of the original Dead Space series, its remake features some unique gameplay mechanics. One of them includes clearance levels that contain multiple riches. Scattered around Ishimura are locked doors and containers that require different levels of clearance to open. When you unlock them, you will be able to loot credits or ammo inside these rooms. But some players are a little confused about getting these permissions. Don’t worry, check out our guide on how to get clearance levels in Dead Space Remake to find out.
How to get clearance levels in Dead Space Remake
You can get or unlock security levels by gradually progressing through the storyline. This means you don’t have to worry about missing them in Dead Space Remake. So, if you want to get all the resources and weapons, you need to be patient to get through the story.
But for those who aren’t patient enough, here’s when you unlock all three clearance levels:
- First Clearance Level: You can unlock this clearance level during Chapter 2 “Intensive Care”. You can obtain this permission from the captain’s rig located in the medical deck mortuary by talking to Hammond.
- Level 2 Clearance: You will unlock this level of clearance during the completion of Chapter 4, Inevitable Destruction. Interact with Hammond in the Captain’s Nest to get Clearance Level 2.
- Clearance Level 3: You can unlock Clearance Level 3 during the completion of Chapter 7 “Into the Void”in Dead Space. You must find the Dallas Mining Rig on the Ishimura Mining Deck in order to obtain this permit.
Once players have received the Security Clearance Boost, they can return to the previous areas. They can help you open locked containers or doors due to lack of access levels. You can get some resources or credits inside these rooms or containers. Although increasing the clearance level opens different rooms, you do not have to go back. This is because the storyline always takes you back to some area. But since there are a few exceptions, obtaining clearance levels is also quite effective. You can return to these areas in between progressing through the story.
However, if you’re looking to access Master Override, you’ll need to complete the You’re Not Authorized side quest.
