Death Stranding 2 is in early development, Norman Reedus accidentally confirmed

It was revealed in a recent interview with Leo Edit that actor Norman Reedus may have just confirmed that Death Stranding 2 is in development. Reedus played the lead character, Sam Porter Bridges, in 2019’s Death Stranding, but so far, Kojima Productions hasn’t officially revealed whether a sequel is actually in the works.

Death Stranding was one of the biggest top-notch exclusives for the PlayStation, and despite the mixed reaction from the public at launch, the game performed extremely well – well enough to warrant a release on PC as well. Game creator Hideo Kojima has yet to respond to Reedus’ comments, other than a humorous Twitter post, apparently in response to the actor’s comments in an interview.

If Reedus’ comments are to be believed, it would appear that development on the sequel is still in its early stages and it will be some time before we see more of the game.

In the same interview, Reedus explained exactly how he started working with Hideo Kojima on the game and how acclaimed director Guillermo Del Toro was instrumental in bringing them together. The 2019 game is currently considered one of the most popular first-person games and has received several awards over the years, including multiple nominations for various GOTY awards.

The actor will likely reprise his role as Sam Porter Bridges in the sequel, and it will be interesting to see what creative direction the studio takes next.

Rumors that Kojima Productions was working on a new game began to surface earlier this year when photos of Motion Capture Studio’s new scene surfaced online. While Kojima himself has yet to confirm the veracity of Reedus’ comments, a sequel to Death Stranding doesn’t seem unrealistic.

The PlayStation is currently in a lot of trouble and it’s likely that Kojima Productions’ next game will likely be the first SI game.
