Discord is hiding its long-awaited themes behind a $10/month Nitro subscription

Discord is finally kicking off customizing its app with its themes, a highly requested feature but hidden behind a $10/month Nitro subscription.

Discord is finally offering its users the ability to customize the interface of their desktop app with numerous themes. A novelty that appeared in the latest beta version of the application. The messaging service has introduced themes – one of the most requested features by the community – with no less than 16 predefined options to choose from. The less good news, however, is that you can only enjoy it if you pay for Nitro, the most expensive offering of all subscriptions.

However, Nitro offers other benefits, including a higher file sharing limit, 4K streaming at 60 frames per second, and the ability to send messages up to 4,000 characters long. But if you don’t really need all of that, you’ll have to decide if you’re willing to shell out $10/month or $100/year just to have custom themes in your app.

If you’ve been looking forward to this feature and are really willing to pay for a Nitro subscription, know that you can choose from a variety of color schemes offered in the Appearance section of Settings. You will now see a new Colors section under the existing Light and Dark themes. Here you will find 16 basic options. Apparently, there is another hidden color scheme that you can see by clicking the Theme Preview button to test each of the options before making your choice. Luckily, Discord allows you to use this preview button even if you don’t have an active Nitro subscription.
