Doctor Who: David Tennant and Catherine Tate will return next season
Comedian David Tennant (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Around the World in 80 Days) played the tenth Time Lord on Doctor Who, and actress Catherine Tate (Big School, Last Stage, Hard Cell)) played his partner Donna Noble.
One of the most beloved duos in Doctor Who history are reuniting and are currently filming scenes due to air in 2023 to coincide with the BBC One television series’ 60th anniversary celebrations.
Showrunner Russell T Davies says, “They’re back! And it seems implausible – first we announce the new Doctor, then the old one, plus the wonderful Donna Noble, what the hell is going on? It may be a forgotten story. Or a parallel world. Or a dream, or a trick, or a memory. The only thing I can confirm is that it will be spectacular as our two biggest stars come together in a battle for their lives. ”
David Tennant and Catherine Tate, the reasons for the breakup of the duo in “Doctor Who”
The Doctor and Donna Noble broke up when he had to erase his companion’s memory, making her forget about him in order to save her life. He left his family a warning. If she ever remembers, she will die. But with the two characters now coming face to face in the new season of Doctor Who, the big question is why and how.
