Don’t Nod believes Tencent will become its largest shareholder
With a new fundraiser from Don’t Nod, Tencent became the first shareholder of an independent French publisher and studio.
After the first fundraising started in 2021, the French independent publisher and studio Don’t Nod announces the completion of the second fundraising of 46 million euros, of which 98.5% are institutional investors and 1.5% are private individuals through the platform Primary Bid. Prestigious move for Don’t Nod with Tencent
Oscar Gilbert, CEO of Don’t Nod, said:
I am very pleased with the continued support of our existing shareholders and I would like to express my gratitude to institutional and private investors for their trust in our development. With the release of two new games in 2023 and the development of four additional original creations, as well as two external collaborations, Don’t Nod is capitalizing on the largest gaming pipeline in its history. The funds raised will allow us to accelerate our next growth cycle after 2025 in a segment with a strong and proven commercial potential for action RPGs.
Don’t Nod is gearing up for the future with an ambitious original RPG (Project 12), a collaboration with Focus Entertainment on the RPG Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, a narrative adventure game Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, and editing of external collaborations by Studio Tolima and Tiny Bull Studios.
