If today is Sunday, then it’s time for another wallpaper collection of the week. The gallery is updated at least once a week, and when Apple announces new software or hardware, you can expect special mid-week releases!

These wet yet beautiful rainy scenes, based on the weather I’m currently experiencing, make for incredible backdrops. Each one has enough detail to intrigue the eye, yet is minimal enough to even create a great home screen wallpaper without being too busy.

If you’ve been following the collection for the past year or two, you know I’ve been high on purple ever since I bought a new M1 iMac in the same color. This was followed by the Deep Purple iPhone 13 Pro Max, which also matches my fully customized purple AirPods Pro from ColorWare.

As such, I gravitate toward the first boot listed below. The rich purple background that these water drops cling to is perfect for iPhone Deep Purple. In this particular wallpaper, purple is almost so dark that it borders on black, or even some extremely dark version of navy blue, depending on where you look at the image.

If you love wallpapers, help influence the collection by contacting me. For now, you can find me on Twitter @jim_gresham where many of you gather for midweek downloads and previews of upcoming posts. However, I’m considering moving beyond Twitter, given the recent removal of third-party app access to Twitter. Since I’ve used Tweetbot as the only app I’ve ever used to access Twitter, it’s likely that once Tapbots completes their Mastadon app, Ivory, I’ll be spending more time there. Time will show.
