Palera1n jailbreak rewritten in C in version 2.0.0 beta 1 with many changes and improved user interface

The palera1n team made an important announcement on Twitter on Sunday afternoon about a jailbreak tool based on the checkm8 bootrom exploit for devices with A9-A11 chips running iOS 15.x-16.3.

The announcement is based on a completely rewritten palera1n hack tool using the C programming language, which the team says will provide improved stability and a smoother user experience compared to previous releases.

This new version, dubbed Palara1n v2.0.0 beta 1, is available on a separate dedicated GitHub page and is considered a public beta. With that in mind, bugs are to be expected and in fact the palera1n team is already aware of some bugs which they describe in the changelog below:

Beneficial changes:

– Support for passcodes on phones with A10 and A10X chips – Automatic entry of settings, as in the case of checkra1n
– Loader application is now removed to support both rootless and root jailbreak methods – Loader application no longer shows the install button if the jailbreak is already installed. – No internet connection required after initial download – No need to create ramdask, which means you don’t need either gaster or pyimg4 anymore – 10 minutes is still required to create fakeFS, however this is not the case. on the device instead of on the computer to increase the success rate – Smaller file size

Unfavorable changes:

– No option to create or boot in a tethered environment (which 16gb devices cannot use, however they can use the non-rooted method) – Replacement may have more problems connecting to 802.1x Wi-Fi networks esp-peap-mschapv2 – A9 devices those with a chip and older may require palera1n-c to be re-run while they are still in PongoOS.

Another notable change:

Sileo Nightly is now used instead of Sileo. Sileo Nightly is a different version of Sileo that is receiving nightly updates from the Sileo team. Due to nightly updates, this version is considered less stable than the traditional Sileo, however, it has more advanced changes to support the latest changes in the latest jailbreak tools. Sileo Nightly supports both non-rooted and rooted versions of palera1n.

The palera1n team has explicitly stated that the steps for using palera1n.sh are different from those for using palera1n-c. Information on what arguments to use when trying to use palera1n-c is discussed on the GitHub page.

From what we can gather, Palara1n-c is the next step in making the Palera1n jailbreak more user-friendly for the general public, and while it’s full of not only improvements but also bugs, future updates will eventually iron out those issues.

The latest version of palera1n-c can be obtained from the project’s GitHub repository. Please note that the palera1n jailbreak does not and will never support devices newer than the iPhone X.
