This is the new, more affordable Apple Watch SE with crash detection and more.
Apple at the Far Out event on September 7 announced the second-generation Apple Watch SE model, which offers more features than the original at a lower price.
The new Apple Watch SE is here
The second-generation Apple Watch SE, with a redesigned back cover in the same color, is powered by the same custom Apple S8 chip as the new Apple Watch Series 8, which is twenty percent faster. The device also has a thirty percent larger display than the ancient Apple Watch Series 3.
The new Apple Watch SE now supports all the health-focused features found on the mainstream Apple Watch, including crash detection (thanks to a new sensor), as well as fall detection, emergency SOS, sleep stages, heart rate notifications, and more.
Apple claims to have developed new manufacturing processes for the second-generation Apple Watch SE that reduce carbon emissions by 85 percent. The new Apple Watch SE is available in Silver, Midnight, and Starlight.

What happened to the watch rumored to be for kids?
Leading up to the announcement that Apple could introduce another Apple Watch model that could cost less than the Apple Watch SE and be aimed at kids, there were rumors.
As it turns out, this is actually the new iPhone SE. As for features that should have been aimed at kids, Apple has highlighted Family Setup and other parental controls that allow parents to keep an eye on how kids are using their watch.
The original Apple Watch SE was released in September 2020 for $279. For that price, you got the features included in the Apple Watch Series 7, with the exception of ECG, blood oxygen monitoring, and the always-on display. The Apple Watch SE runs on Apple’s 64-bit dual-core chip, dubbed the S5.
