Hurricane Katrina will be the centerpiece of a new drama from the Apple TV+ streaming platform.
Based on a true story and adapted from a book by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Sheri Fink, Five Days at the Memorial chronicles the immediate and long-term effects of Hurricane Katrina on a New Orleans hospital. Faced with floods, power outages and suffocating heat, exhausted medical staff had to make decisions that took years to complete.

Five Days at the Memorial, an eight-episode miniseries created by John Ridley and Carlton Cuse, debuts on Apple TV+ on August 12.
