Fortnite returns to iOS devices via GeForce Now

Fortnite is gearing up to return to iOS devices via the NVIDIA GeForce Now streaming service.

While video game streaming services are on the rise, some tech giants are intent on keeping their ecosystem alive and, above all, keeping full control over it. This is the case, for example, with Apple, which has introduced strict rules for studios that would like to launch apps on their App Store. Which led to the use of a bypass route. And this will allow Fortnite to return to iOS devices soon.

Fortnite is preparing to return to iOS devices

If you’re a fan of Epic Games’ Fortnite and looking forward to its return to iOS, then you might be in luck. While the app itself has not returned to the Apple Store, a post on the NVIDIA GeForce Now website indicates that the game will be returning to iOS devices soon via the company’s streaming service.

For those who don’t know, GeForce Now is a game streaming service offered by NVIDIA. This is available on a wide variety of platforms, including iOS devices, and gamers can enjoy their games right through the Safari browser. What’s rather funny about this situation is that NVIDIA and Epic are using completely legal workarounds here to be present on iOS.

Via NVIDIA GeForce Now streaming service

Indeed, Apple has imposed very strict conditions on streaming apps that would like to exist in the App Store, and it must be admitted that they are clearly set to discourage such an adventure. Therefore, companies such as NVIDIA and Google have chosen to make their game streaming services available directly through the Safari web browser, allowing you to offer your games to users on iOS devices without having to comply with Apple’s App Store policies or even pay fees charged on subscriptions and purchases made through the store.

The Fortnite beta on GeForce Now should be live in the next few days, and if all goes well, the game will be available to everyone right away. However, no specific date has been announced. A little more patience.
