FromSoftware: George R.R. Martin hails the successful launch of Elden Ring

Proud of the critical success of Japanese studio FromSoftware’s new license, author George R.R. Martin wanted to pay tribute to Hidetaka Miyazaki and his teams.

While the press and gamers are fully immersed in the Souls creator’s open-world RPG, George R.R. Martin returned to his rather minor involvement with the project: “The wait is over. After years of development, Elden Ring was released last week and took the gaming world by storm, but don’t listen to me. FromSoftware hired me to create their new world, so I can hardly claim objectivity. Take a look at some reviews… Once in a generation… Masterpiece… Beautiful and brutal… Luxurious open world… Music right in your ears. ”

He further praised the teams working on one of the highest-rated games in history: “Of course, almost all the credit goes to Hidetaka Miyazaki and his amazing design team who have been working on a new game for half a year.”more, determined to create the best video game of all time. I am honored to meet and work with them and play my part, however small, in creating this fantasy world and making Elden Ring the historic mega hit that it is. ”

Elden Ring, the resurgence of the open world action RPG

The vast Underworld is best explored on foot or on the ghostly horse Torrent, but beware of the many dangers lurking around him. Elden Ring has cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. Some formidable enemies may require the help of other players to defeat them. These summoned players can join the game to defeat them and explore the Underworld. They can also land on other people’s worlds and challenge them to deadly combat for valuable rewards.

Note that the physical sales data confirmed that the new FromSoftware outperformed the studio’s previous biggest release, Dark Souls 3 in 2016, by 26%. These figures do not include digital sales figures, as the downloadable game market has grown significantly over the past five years.
