Funimation, VRV and Wakanim team up with Crunchyroll
Crunchyroll becomes the one brand serving anime fans around the world.
In addition to consolidating its SVOD services (prices remain unchanged), Sony Pictures Entertainment subsidiary Funimation Global Group will now operate as Crunchyroll and has initiated a rebranding of its global footprint to consolidate Crunchyroll as a unique and global brand for anime.
“When we brought Funimation and Crunchyroll together last year, our top priority was to put the fans first,” said Colin Decker, CEO of Crunchyroll. “Combining all of our brands and services under the Crunchyroll brand allows us to deliver more value than ever before by combining subscriptions, dubbing, simulcasts, library, music, movies, manga – all in one subscription. The new Crunchyroll is a dream come true and we are grateful to the anime creators and millions of fans who have joined us to make this community what it is today. ”
