Genshin Impact: How to Defeat Marana’s Avatar

The latest Sumeru v3.0 update for Genshin Impact includes a wide range of new quests, enemies and bosses. Marana’s Avatar is the final boss of the Aranyac World Quest: Part III. During this fight, you will also be accompanied by Arama (and Paimon) for some buffs. While it might be easy to defeat her, her dark powers can be a bit of a hassle. So here is our guide on how to defeat Marana’s Avatar in Genshin Impact.

How to defeat Marana’s avatar in Genshin Impact

Marana’s avatar is a literal blob of purple in another arena or elsewhere with a boss. But in order to deal damage and defeat her, you need to clear the nearby wither zones and stop the decay. There are three wither zones, and clearing them weakens the boss. In this fight, you will control a Traveler with a level 80 Ascended Silver Sword. So you don’t have to worry about leveling up your characters.

Follow these steps to defeat the Avatar of Marana:

• You need to follow Arama, who will lead you to the Withering Zones.
• After clearing any wither zone, capture points will be offered to you.
• You need to use them to get to Marana’s Avatar.
• Hit and damage her before proceeding to clear the Wither Zones.

• Then follow Arama back to the Wither Zones and clear them out.
• Throughout the boss fight, you will switch between locations. But as you continue to do so, you will encounter several Rifthound enemies.
• You can also take damage from the Withering Light attack of Marana’s Avatar.
• You need to enter Arama’s defensive barrier to protect yourself from this damage.
• This protective dome not only protects you from damage, but also heals your HP.
• As soon as you destroy another tumor, return to Marana’s avatar and attack her with elemental damage.

• As mentioned earlier, there are three wilting zones that you need to clear.
• After clearing the last wither zone and returning to Marana’s avatar, you will encounter several hounds.
• These hounds will guard her in the arena and are ready to attack you.
• But don’t worry, as Arama will also offer you support. This way, if you’re low on HP, you can head back to Arama’s barrier to heal and protect yourself.

After you completely deplete Marana Avatar’s health, a cutscene will play. During this cutscene, she will unleash a dark beam on everyone. Thanks to the collective memories of your adventures with Aranara, you and Arama will be able to defeat the boss. But, on the other hand, Arama will sacrifice herself to become a cleansing tree, and this will also cause Aranara to lose her memories.
