N64’s iconic game GoldenEye 007 is coming to Nintendo Switch and Xbox tomorrow!

Tomorrow, one of the most beloved Nintendo 64 games is coming to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. In September, Big N announced that GoldenEye 007 would be in service. Right now. Starting January 27, 2023, you will be able to play or replay this iconic game on your Nintendo Switch. What’s more, the game will also be available on Xbox on the same day.

It’s rather unusual to see a licensed game on Nintendo’s subscription service, but GoldenEye 007 is the game that many fans have been waiting to replay (or play for the first time). It remains to be seen how this iconic Rare Generation FPS will perform today, almost 26 long years after its release on the N64. Luckily, Rare has improved the controls and frame rates from the original version.

The Switch Online version also has a number of additions, including a widescreen mode and a multiplayer mode. You don’t have to share a TV screen to engage in deathmatch with your friends.

Rare is also offering a “recreated”version of GoldenEye 007 on Xbox consoles on the same day, January 27, with support for dual analog sticks, 4K, and a “constant refresh rate.”Oddly enough, there is no multiplayer in the Xbox version, only a four-day split-screen mode. However, you can access it through Xbox Game Pass. Rare Replay Collection owners can download GoldenEye 007 for Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S for free.
