Google Announces Launch of New Pixel Devices at I/O 2022 Today
The Google IO 2022 event starts tonight. The annual Google Developers Conference will take place today at the Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, California, and the keynote will begin at 10:30 pm EST. For those interested, Google will be streaming the event live on YouTube. This time, Google has managed to keep everything under wraps as we still don’t know what the company might announce on stage, especially when it comes to hardware.
Rumor has it that the company may announce the Google Pixel 6a smartphone, the next generation of the Google Nest Hub, the Pixel Watch, and more. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. With only a few hours left before the event, Made By Google has been teasing the launch of a new Pixel-branded device on Twitter.
The launch of the Google Pixel device was teased
Ahead of today’s performance, the Made By Google Twitter account posted a tweet: “Hey #TeamPixel! See you tomorrow on #GoogleIO at 10:00 AM PDT.” The tweet also includes a short video inviting you to Google IO 2022. While the text or video doesn’t say anything about the Pixel device, this invitation certainly hints that Google may be launching at least one, if not more, Pixel products.
Google Pixel 6a, Pixel Buds Pro and Pixel Watch
Among the most anticipated Google Pixel 6a products seems to be the best content so far, to be announced tonight. The Pixel 6a has been in the news for a few months now and is also rumored to launch Google IO 2022. The device will feature a Tensor processor with at least 6GB of RAM. It will run Android 12 out of the box. It will most likely feature a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor and a 12MP ultra wide-angle camera.
The launch of the Pixel Buds Pro TWS is expected, as well as the top flagship audio product from Google. While there are no major leaks yet, Jon Prosser has revealed that the Pro will be available in four color options: Real Red, Carbon, Limoncello, and Fog. We can expect this product to have ANC and even support for spatial audio.
Finally, the event will be able to announce or tease the Pixel Watch. It will be Google’s first smartwatch, and after the Fitbit acquisition, the company is expected to include a host of health and fitness-related features as well. Several leaked images have given us our first look at Google’s first smartwatch. Pixel Watch will be equipped with a round display with a side button, as well as a crown. There are also rumors of a 300 mAh battery.
