Google Docs now includes an emoji label
Google Docs is moving to emoji and offering a label integration system. Simple and effective.
Google Docs decided to take on emoji. Last April, the company added the ability to respond to documents with emoji instead of leaving a full comment. Today, Google is expanding support for emojis, adding a quick and easy way to insert emojis into Google Docs without having to go to an external source.
Google Docs will get emoji
This feature is part of the Google “paste”shortcut. When you start a new document, you see the text “Enter @ to paste,”text that you might miss if you start typing too fast. There, you’ll see a menu of options available to you: you can email a draft document to someone, share it with your recent Google contacts, embed other documents, and insert typical word processing elements such as links, page breaks, and pagination. But what’s new here are emoticons. If you scroll down the menu, you will find the option in the last position under Media. Click on it and you will have access to a very easy to use emoji selection menu. Choose from an overview or find a specific one.
and offers an integration system via shortcuts
You can also access this menu from the hidden shortcut in the right pane of the document. Hover your mouse next to the text and click on the little smiling face.
Simple and effective
While this menu is actually very useful, if you already know which emoji you want to integrate, you can access it even faster. Type “@:”and start typing the name of the corresponding emoji. You may already be familiar with this type of system if you regularly use an app like Slack: as you type, you’ll see a set of emoji that change depending on the description of what you’re typing. For example, type “@:laugh”to trigger the “Laughter”, “Joy”, and “Rofl”emojis.
If the emoji you want to insert is the first option, just press the Enter key on your keyboard to paste it into your document. Otherwise, select one of the other options using the arrow keys on your keyboard and press Enter when your choice is made.
