Google Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch may skip I/O 2022
Google Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch may skip I/O 2022. Possibly delay due to lack of chips.
Unless Google changes its approach when it comes to the I/O developer event, expect I/O 2022 to take place sometime in May, probably towards the end of the month. And, as usual, this should be a very interesting event, especially since some rumors suggest that the Mountain View company will take the opportunity to introduce new products.
Google Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch may skip I/O 2022
Among the new devices that can be styled during this event, we’ll find the Google Pixel 6a, as well as the Pixel Watch, which we’ve been talking about for a very long time. That being said, it looks like these two products are just skipping this big party. Indeed, according to a report by the often very well-informed Jon Prosser, the American giant may delay the announcement of this smartphone and this smartwatch until the end of July. This is due to the lack of chips.
Delayed possibly due to lack of chips
However, Jon Prosser elaborates that the Pixel Watch could be ready by May, but his sources suggest that his announcement will also be delayed to coincide with the launch of the Pixel 6a. In other words, you will have to be patient if you are expecting any of these products.
To be honest, the last Google “a”-stamped products were released in August. This was the case with the Pixel 4a and 5a. If Google had announced them in July, it would have been a little earlier than usual. It is also necessary, of course, that these rumors be proven.
In any case, since none of this has been officially confirmed, not even I/O 2022, we will take this information with a pinch of salt before we know more. May is still far ahead. We should have more details in the coming weeks. To be continued!
