Google stepped into the true wireless headphone space with the release of the Google Pixel Buds back in 2020, and in mid-2021, the company launched the budget Google Pixel Buds A series.
Now it looks like Google is working on a “Pro”model of the Google Pixel Buds that can compete with the Apple AirPods Pro, Sony WF-1000XM4, and more. The popularity of true wireless earphones has grown rapidly over the last couple of years, and Google certainly wants to enter the big leagues with the Google Pixel Buds Pro in the premium segment.

According to leaker Jon Prosser, Google is now gearing up to launch the Google Pixel Buds Pro. The Buds Pro are coming soon, he said, and he also offered color options for the audio product. The Pixel Buds Pro are said to come in four color options: Real Red, Carbon, Limoncello, Fog.
While we haven’t heard about this particular product in the past, a piece of code in Android 13 hints at a couple of features, including support for spatial audio and head tracking in Android 13. In another tweet, Mishaal Rahman says that Google is already working on it. about spatial audio, as well as head tracking support in Android 13, and Google is keeping head tracking a secret. In addition, Android now has support for Bluetooth Low Energy audio – Google Pixel Buds Pro are rumored to use all of these features.
It’s worth noting that at this point, since the details around the Buds Pro are scary right now, we’re just connecting the dots and there’s no guarantee that all of these features will appear in a Google product. However, judging by the moniker, the Pixel Buds Pro will most likely feature active noise cancellation and spatial audio support. More information on this may appear in the coming days.
