With its Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Mountain View has introduced some very exciting new features. They are here.
With the launch of the new generation of Google Pixel smartphones, Mountain View is frequently launching new features, some of which are very interesting. To attract customers, the American giant decided to offer some devices exclusively for the latest generation, others are available for older models, and still others are available on Android for all manufacturers. A brief overview of the exciting new features coming to the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
Click to take a photo
Hidden behind this name is a feature that heavy Snapchat users should surely love. With this feature, it becomes possible to launch Snapchat directly from the lock screen by setting Snapchat as a Quick Tap action. This feature is available on Google Pixel 4a 5G and later.
Digital car key
Soon it will be possible to leave the house with nothing but a smartphone. Google is bringing Pixel owners closer to that goal with a digital car key feature. This feature is currently reserved for certain BMW models produced between 2020 and 2022 and only in certain countries. This feature allows you to open and close your car doors by holding your smartphone close to the handle. You can even start your car.
This feature is only available for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
The Ultra-WideBand is finally here
The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are compatible with ultra-wideband (UWB), but Google turned it off before launch. After the December update, UWB is finally here; The biggest advantage is Nearby Share which allows you to send photos, videos, files and any other data to another UWB device.
Now playing
Now Playing is a fantastic feature; if you want to know the name of the current song, just look at its Pixel lock screen. If the phone can identify it, you will see a title at the bottom of the screen. If it doesn’t, you can click the search button (Pixel 4 and newer). And if you want to save this song as a favorite so you can listen to it later, tap the musical note next to it.
Set up Google Assistant activation with the power button
Now you can choose how long you have to press the power button to call the assistant.
Talk mode (beta)
This feature, still in beta testing, allows you to focus on the conversation by reducing background noise when using headphones or headphones. All audio processing is done on the phone, Google never owns your conversation data.
New wallpapers
Google has added three new screensavers for World Disability Day. These are the creations of the artist Dana Kirli, which can be found in the “Culture”section.
Car Accident Detection Extension
The car accident detection feature was already available in Australia, Spain, USA, Ireland, Japan, UK and Singapore. Now it’s coming to France, Italy, and Taiwan for Pixel 3 and later owners.
Extension of the application “Recorder”
Similarly, the Recorder app now supports more languages. You will benefit from transcriptions in German, French and Japanese. Again, for owners of Pixel 3 or newer.
Bass Boost on Pixel Buds A Series
This isn’t actually a Pixel feature, but a suggested one by Google. On smartphones running Android 6.0 and later, you can use the Pixel Buds app to boost bass from -1 to +4. According to Google, this doubles the Buds’ original bass range.
