Google continues to work tirelessly to make its Chrome OS operating system, and by extension, Chromebooks, great learning and productivity tools. These devices are now becoming much more useful for taking notes. Indeed, Mountain View is currently rolling out the M102 version of Chrome OS, making it possible to use the Cursive app, very limited so far, on any Chromebook that supports styluses.

This Cursive app lets you create, organize, and share handwritten notes, in some cases with simple keyboard shortcuts that even save you the hassle of using a keyboard or touch screen. You can write or draw, but you can also use the stylus to move content around by simply tracing it, or erase it by drawing on it. The app even offers the option to create extra space by drawing a horizontal line. Cursive also offers to insert images, collect items into notebooks, and share notes by copying them or saving them as PDF.
The M102 is also a very important upgrade if you’re using a Chromebook with Thunderbolt or USB 4 ports. Chrome OS on PCs with 11th or 12th Gen Core processors is now smart enough to know if the USB-C cable you’re using can, or may not support the screen. Then you no longer have to wonder why a particular device is not working properly.

If you need to enlarge text, also know that this update allows you to enlarge a certain area. You can then see the content larger or save a small area when you just need to take a closer look at small images or text.
Italic will also come pre-installed on all compatible Chromebooks as part of this update, but you can install it manually using this link. This release makes a Chromebook with a stylus much more useful in everyday life. It becomes very easy to take handwritten notes, and accessing and sharing them is very fast and very easy.
