HabitKit, The Papers, Lofi and other apps to try this weekend

It’s time once again for our Apps of the Week review, where we highlight some of our favorite, newly discovered apps and games. We’ve got some great options this week, including a consistency tracker, a document organizer, and a lo-fi audio app. And, as always, we have chosen a new fun game for you.

HabitKit – persistence tracker

I’m always attracted to these applications because they are extremely subjective. The best habit tracking app is the one you’ll actually use, and I think there are many more people, myself included, who haven’t found the right app yet. HabitKit looks crisp and has these beautiful tile-based grids to help you keep track of your progress. Look at these charts. LOOK AT THEM.

The Papers: Document Manager

It’s tax season (or tax season, depending on what kind of person you are), which means it’s time to get your paperwork in order. Obviously, there are plenty of apps out there to help you with this, but if you’re looking for a simple app that will store your documents in an encrypted, easy-to-read, searchable format, you should give The Papers a try.

Lofi. – Lofi and time tracking

If you’re unfamiliar with lo-fi music, it’s essentially minimalist, super chill hip hop. It is often used to improve concentration while working or studying, as it usually does not contain lyrics or complex melodies. Apple Music and Spotify have entire channels dedicated to the genre, but if that’s not enough or isn’t enough for you, check out Lofi. It has a nice user interface, tons of music, and even a built-in time tracker.

Starlander12

The whole Flappy Bird fiasco years ago left a hole the size of Flappy Bird in my heart that I’m always trying to fill with a new skill game. The last thing I got was Starlandler12. The action takes place in space, and your task is to collect as many stars as possible while avoiding collisions with planets. It’s extremely primitive, so don’t expect impressive graphics or physics. But the quick play/addiction factor is definitely there.
